Woots. Ok another short account of the 2 papers that have passed since my last blog post. Lol. Why do I always post a day before a test....
Anyways, friday was Chem paper 1. What should I say... I really sincerely thought that it was quite easy and very managable... but everyone else said that it was "very hard", "not easy", "killer", "tough", "die la"... You get the picture. So now I'm kinda worried. Ok. Actually VERY worried. Did I completely miss something that everyone else saw? Sure, I too couldn't finish the paper like a very large majority of students, but I'm quite sure I got the front 30 questions mostly correct (lol which also took away my time for the last stupid 10 questions). I only had 10 minutes left for 10 questions, and in the end I couldn't even read 3 questions and had to randomly shade answers [though not really random - I shaded them all "2". Higher probability this way.] Well, we just have to wait and see.... Surely my chem standard didn't suddenly JUMP in the span of 1 month rite? Btw i failed chem MCQ in the prelims... Yup.
Ok. Next was Biology paper 3 on Tuesday. Woots! OMG! Finally! A spamming paper! How glad was I when it was 5 marks for regurgitating gel electrophoresis, 5 for callus culture, about 15 for stem cells and 20 marks for Human Genome Project!!! WOW! My mugging and memorizing actually paid off for once! No silly application questions or thinking questions... JUST SPAM!!! AHHHH!!! YES!!!!!!!!!! I FEEL SO HAPPY!!!!
Ok. Only Biology paper 1 (MCQ) is left tomorrow. It better don't screw up my bio! But considering that I've never gotten less than 28 for MCQ (once) and the rest is around 32 - 37, I'm fairly confident that I'll know most of the questions and will be able to use the remaining time to do those that I don't know.
Argh! A levels, or rather 14 years of government education ends in less than 15 hours! WOAH!!!! HAHA!
On separate notes I'm so glad that I've gotten nice stuffs for Grad night and won't be in some super mad rush after A leves to get something sloppy. FYI there's only 10 days after bio that exams end... and surely some days will be spent on chilling, chatting and going out rite =) Haha... kinda excited to see what everyone wears...
Ok gtg back to mug now. Goodluck to everyone still taking A levels (Biology, Art and H3 econs i think, not sure if there's any more).

Before I go off mugging for chemistry again, I shall recap A levels for me
1) GP 1 - Ok la. I dunno. GP essays are always scary for me, regardless of whether I wrote on a topic that I have done so well before or whether I really think I wrote well. I think I should at least get a 30?
2) GP 2 - Omg. I can already see a 3/8 AQ mark. Enough said. Though the rest were Ok just that the questions were quite weird and hence the lack of time at the end =(. But hopefully I shall shine with my grasp of English pizzazz! xD
3) Math 1 - Ho hum... Going quite well until the 10 mark differentiation question... That sort of derailed me although the others were fairly doable. No As for this paper. I'm sure.
4) Biology 2 - Not applicable. It wasn't even a real examination paper. It was only a dream.
5) Chem 3 - Omg. The easiest chem 3 I've ever done in my life. A few careless mistakes and 1 - 3 marks blanks here and there... but it's looking good! =)
6) Math 2 - Omg. MY SAVIOUR!!! I'm quite sure I aced the entire stats section (aced as in almost full marks - ok 30 marks confirmed overall HAHA) and I had a few hiccups in the front part but I hope it's enough to pull me up. I hope I pray I dream. But it's fine that at least I ended my weakest subject on a high note. So I'm happy.
7) Chem 2 - HAHAHAH! The easiest chem paper 3 followed by the easiest paper 2 that I've ever done! Quite sure the first 3 questions were very well done (no careless mistakes, please...) although transition metals was :S. But i did quite good damage control for that question and it sure is looking well for chem! How ironic.
8) Econs 2 - I never really have any say for essays. Cos it's just so controversial! The questions were all so deceptively easy. I hope I didn't write out of point, answered the questions correctly and on point, that the teacher likes my handwriting and I *should* be fine.
9) Econs 1 - GAH! Not as bad as econs 2 but still bleurgh. It's the kind of paper that you leave not knowing whether you should rejoice cos you can burn econs notes when you go home or disappointed because you know you could have done better with more time or read the questions clearer.
10) Chem 1 - PLEASE DONT SCREW UP MY CHEMISTRY!!!
11) Bio 3 - Hmmm i wonder what happened to Bio 2
12) Bio 1 - Hmmm i wonder what happened to Bio 2

I feel much relieved now. At the start of A levels I was thinking like ... how in the world could I possibly survive 5 full days of content subjects??? Well, it IS A levels, it IS the LAST hurdle of my government-education life, before I embark on NS and Uni thereafter. Gosh how time has whizzed past... I dare not even think about working life.... Gosh... Am I starting to miss school before it has even officially ended??? Argh....
Ok firstly, A levels. 6 papers in 5 days... That's honestly crazy. I don't believe there's ever been such a time in my life when the exams just kept coming and coming and coming without stop... And honestly the night before Chem Paper 3 was like totally deathly for me. You know the feeling where you feel like you are so inept and like a cow walking to the milk shed. Ok no. Like a chicken walking to the slaughterhouse. Yup. The emotion that you feel no matter what you do, it's not enough and that once again you'll die. BUT! Praise the Lord! Chem paper 3 was sooooooooooo easy... I dare say the easiest chem paper I have EVER done. =) =) On a separate note, this makes me scared for chem paper 2 since it could mean that it's VERY hard ... And since chem paper 1 can never be too easy, I really have my work cut out for me .... God bless me... GP was OK. Except I'm quite sure I'll get a 3/8 for AQ [no time to finish...] and I *hope* my essay did not digress too much.... gosh.... I really NEED an A for GP... If i don't .... And math was mixed ... I think I screwed up Math 1 kinda badly.. But i do believe I did considerably well for paper 2. Considering everyone gets 80+ for an A... Maths is the first subject on my mind to go "cancel... no more A..."... But Math is OK for me. My parents know math has been my worst subject since secondary 2, so they don't mind... But there's always hope and surprises... And bio paper 2 was SHIT! Freaking hard la! F*CK the cambridge setters. WTH were they thinking with all those science-application-like questions!!! OMG! Did they really expect us to know how cell transporters or antiviral drugs work??? F*CK LA!
Ok secondly I'm really glad that It's all ending. 6 down 6 to go. By this time next week it'll be 10 down 2 to go, and by next next monday it'll be 11 down and 1 to go!! And by that time I will be CELEBRATING!!! Cos bio paper 3 is just :S Sure can lar.... [hopefully]. Sigh but with everything comes an opposite reaction. Right after that I must shape up my bod for NS! I'm actually quite excited to take a deserved break from my life of studying and finally dedicate some downtime to my physique. And not to mention like it's a camping trip! Haha. How I miss those treks and camps last time .... :(
BUT! Nice things to look out for AFTER A levels.
1) Asian Anime Festival: OMG! I wanna go! I've already booked my ticket. Even if i have no idea was is going to happen just being there with all the cosplayers and the manga authors will send me to heaven... seriously. AHHHH It's like the euphoria of sex except that I have no idea wad the euphoria of sex is so I'll just assume it's even better than that :P I hope CQ, CM and QH can come with me =)
2) LONG OVERDUE MEGA SHOPPING SPREE. If I calculate correctly, Kinokuniya will implement their annual Christmas sale around November 25 where I can get 20% discount on everything inside! WOOHOO! I think everyone knows what I'll jump straight for xD
3) MORE LONG OVERDUE MEGA SHOPPING SPREE. Argh needa buy my shoes for grad night... And shoes for myself... I only have like 5 pairs of wearable shoes now... And I need at least 3 more pairs to match A) a red top, B) my dance outfit and C) a winter cardigan. I also need to buy scarfs, nice sweaters, bandanas, a headband, some belts, cool and sexy underwear, cutsey socks, another vest to match my silver vest, some hair products, cool new spectacles, a linx (or is it lynx) pants and a clubbing outfit [ever since sad things happned to my regular one... sob sob]. Yup. Hmm how much do I need.... (I could also add in that Cartier watch I've been eyeing for some time, and the D&G sunglasses...)
4) GRAD NIGHT ITSELF. Haha. It's kinda nostalgic-cool in a way that we can all come in super nice outfits and see each other in the prime of our lives, and say "I love you", "I miss you", "You look cool", "fuck you", "let's club later" or "keep in touch" etc etc. Can't wait to see everyone again =) At a time when we aren't mugging for preparing for a test or listening to lectures or preparing for uni applications, or training for competitions or doing tutorials or meeting teachers or doing PW or doing presentations or going home to mug by our lonely selves or writing our personal statements or doing CIP. Yup. Can't wait. [and also to see everyone's fashion =)]
5) Holiday! Finally my parents relented to my requests are we are going to East Europe FINALLY! At long last I get a truly artistic and historic tour which will explore the birthplaces of famous musicians like Mozart or Beethovan and the clashes of human ideologies in our violent past. Like the Berlin Wall or Auchswitch [how u spell] Concentration Camp. Haha. Maybe I can meet a hot chick during the tour too ;P
6) Friends catchup: Can't wait to meet up with all my friends before we all separate for NS or Uni or some other endeavour. I really miss... Samuel, and Calvin. I really miss you two... And Ian, Benoi and Jonathan. And Ming Shu, CQ, CM and QH (tho the last 4 doesn't really count cos I meet you all quite often Haha). And of course 3L, Janson, some BB friends, 2E pals, and of course EPPS darlings! Haha. Can't believe I found so many of you on Facebook... And I wanna catch up with my cousins too... Can't believe I've hardly seen them since this year.. [doesn't help that the 2 youngest ones are having O levels and A levels at the same time...]. Hmm... did I miss anyone? Church friends.... IRC pals... Oh yes! Almost forgot. Privin.... I forgive you.
Ok. Time to get back to mugging how fiscal policies can explain why McCain lost the US presidential elections.
On a totally separate and random note..... I want to adopt Naruto! Maybe I will name my child Naruto next time =)

Oh I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old things they are not forgotten
Look away, look away, look away Dixie land
Oh I wish I was in dixie, away, away
In Dixie land I take my stand
To live and die in Dixie
Cause Dixie land, thats where I was born
Early Lord one frosty morning
Look away, look away, look away Dixie land
Glory, glory hallelujah;
Glory, glory hallelujah;
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on
So hush little baby, dont you cry
You know your daddy's bound to die
But all my trials, Lord will soon be over
Fall on your knees, all yee faithful
His truth is marching on
His truth is marching on

Haha some fun Q&A I found from Ian's blog a way long time ago but didn't bother doing. Now I think I'm stressed enough and crazy enuff to stop studying and complete it.
TECHNOLOGY
Q. What is your wallpaper on your computer?
The Night scene of Singapore's City Center, showing the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, a nice hotel and the Marina Lake (is that what you call it?)
Q. How many televisions you have in your house?
3. Cool eh? One in the bedroom and 2 in the hall/living room.
BIOLOGY
Q. Are you right-handed or left-handed?
Right. Very normal.
Q. Have you ever had anything removed from your body?
Lol. My appendix and a small part of my small intestine. (lol if you know me you'll now know the origins of my stomach scar)
Q. What is the last heavy item you lifted?
4 bags of groceries.
Q. Have you ever been knocked out?
Not by others. By running into a giant metal lock on a gate, ramming straight into it, and fainted. Does that count? Btw I needed 3 stitches... Ouch.
BULLSHITOLOGY
Q. If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die?
Yes. So I can take my own life if I think I'm gonna die in a horrid day, or so I can show my appreciation to all who matter in my life. Sort of like the Bucket List, so I can do things I really wanna do before I kick the bucket. (lol). But not now. I'm too young.
Q. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
Lol. This isn't really changing anything. I'll just revert back to my Japanese name Hayashi Yamada. I got "Joshua" cos my dad though Yamada would make people laugh at me in school. Lol. (If you translate my chinese name to Jap...)
Q. What color do you think looks best on you?
Bright colours cos it suits my panache. (hopefully)
Q. Have you ever swallowed a non-food item?
Like duh. Who hasn't?
Q. Would you kiss a member of the same sex for $100?
Another duh. I already "kiss" guys for free.
Q. Would you allow one of your little fingers to be cut off for $200,000?
Omg. Duh... NO!
Q. Would you never blog again for $50,000?
Sure. I'll turn to podcasting.
Q. Would you pose naked in a magazine for $250,000?
If I've got a body to die for, of which I don't have now sob sob.
Q. Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1,000?
Depends on how hot. If it is like the Maggi Chili no problem, but if it is like peppers or jalepeno I won't. I'll really die. My spice tolerance is almost zilch.
Q. Would you, without fear of punishment, take a human life for $1,000,000?
If he was Osama bin Laden, or that North Korean dictator (forgot his name, only knows it ends with Il), or any other societal trash that don't deserve to be alive anyway.
DUMBOLOGY
Q: What is in your left pocket?
My pants now doesn't have any pockets...
Q: Is Napoleon Dynamite actually a good movie?
No. Enough said.
Q: Do you have hardwood or carpet in your house?
How about marble.
Q: Do you sit or stand in the shower?
Stand. But I used to sit in the bathtub :)
Q: How many pairs of flip flops do you own?
5. Lol.
LASTOLOGY
Q: Last person who texted you?
Charmaine Yap.
Q: Last person who called you?
Sam Sie.
Q: Person you hugged?
Sam Sie.
FAVORITOLOGY
Q: Number?
7. God's perfect number.
Q: Season?
America's Next Top Model Cycle 11
Q: Color?
RED FTW!!!
CURRENTOLOGY
Q: Missing someone?
Yes. A lot.
Q: Mood?
The mood you get when you know you should be studying for a VERY major exam instead of doing a stupid online more-about-yourself questionnaire.
Q: Listening to?
You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone. I need relaxing oldies now.
Q: Watching?
Ugly Betty.
Q: Worrying about?
A Levels. What else can there be that's more important?
Q: Wearing?
Some grey army singlet and blue board shorts
RANDOMOLOGY
Q: First place you went this morning?
Bathroom to wash my face... If you meant outside the house, it's the immigration office at Lavendar (I had to make a new passport)
Q: What can you not wait to do?
Erm, for A levels to end and I can buy all the comic books I want! And Sims 3! (though it only comes out in 2009 Feb)
Q: Do you smile often?
I think I smile more often that most people, so yes.
Q: Are you a friendly person?
I would think that I am. Or at least I don't think I'm mean-spirited.
